Minister of Charters Towers Uniting Church Rev. Arthur Tutin at the Charters Towers Uniting Church
Reverend Arthur Tutin is inviting locals to discuss meaningful questions in a safe space at the Charters Towers Uniting Church as the annual Alpha program returns.
Alpha is a program designed to bring people together, encourage honest questions about life, and explore meaning, purpose and faith in an open and respectful setting.
The Alpha program has operated in town for over half a decade, consisting of 15 sessions over 11 weeks.
Rev. Tutin explained the value of a program like Alpha in the Charters Towers community.
“The symbol for Alpha is a large question mark,” he said.
“We ask many questions during our lifetime.
“Some questions may be of little long-term importance.
“Other questions are deeper and reflect a search for meaning.
“‘Is there more to life than this?’
“Alpha is a safe space to explore life, purpose and the Christian faith, ask questions, and share your point of view.”
Alpha is entirely free, beginning on Tuesday 3rd March and will continue to early June.
Rev. Tutin said attendees will be welcomed with dinner, conversation, and community.
“Locals can become involved by having a willingness to come and participate,” he said.
“Members of the Charters Towers Uniting Church are involved in the various aspects of the program.
“Each evening consists of dinner, video and discussion.
“Alpha is free and everyone is welcome.”
Those interested can email ucactowers@gmail.com or call 0406 892 429 so appropriate catering arrangements can be made before the program begins.
