Ravenswood’s much-loved Halloween Ball is back on 18 October, promising a spooky night of costumes, live music, and family fun.
The annual community event, organised by the Ravenswood State School P&C, will be held at the School of Arts Hall, with tickets priced at $15 and concessions available for pensioners and students.
Ravenswood State School P&C member Billie Rutherford emphasised the inclusive atmosphere for spooky season lovers of all ages.
“Almost everyone comes in costume—homemade or store-bought—and the creativity is incredible,” she said.
“The P&C goes all out with amazing Halloween decorations, and local businesses from Ravenswood, Charters Towers, the Burdekin, and Townsville generously donate cash and prizes to support our small school.
“Get ready for one of the most anticipated events on the Ravenswood calendar.”
Local singer Tammy Wilson, who will be providing live music at the event, said she is looking forward to the spooky costumes this year.
“I’m most excited about seeing the original costumes,” she said.
“One of the prizes is best home made costume so there are some amazing designs from people and so much work goes into them.”
This iconic event has been running for over 100 years and is now the biggest fundraiser for Ravenswood State School, supporting excursions, camps, teacher wages, and specialised lessons like music and technology.
Tickets are available online or at the gate upon arrival.
Dress-up prize categories include:
Best Dressed Individual (all ages, male/female – with separate prizes for kids, teens, and adults)
Best Group Costume (families, friends, themed groups)
